Flamingos are beautiful, gracious animals. Ancient Egyptians believed them to be an embodiment of Ra, the sun god and the animal is also widely believed to be the source of the myth of the Phoenix, the bird that turns into ashes, and then rises from them with new life. I couldn't resist including this beautiful bird in my collection.
My rounded Nicolai table exhibits gentle, curving contours on its three legs, inspired by the flamingos’ long, lean necks that make distinctive bends and poses. The gilded plume detailing is in honor of their fluid, fabulous feathers, which are beautifully layered and coloured in endless shades of pink.
