The new additions to our animal themed luxury children’s furniture.
Every safari needs a monkey and some flamingos. The new additions to our animal themed luxury children’s furniture fit in nicely in the animal themed handcrafted collection. The new designs include: Mr. Nilsson bed, a bedside table, a flamingo chair and a beautiful white and gold table.
Anaiza founder Kyra Algazi says: “Mr. Nilsson bed, I named the monkey after Pippi’s monkey. As a child I was fascinated with her life”.
For those who are not familiar with Pippi Longstocking, she is a creation of a brilliant Swedish author Astrid Lindgren and named by Lindgren's then nine-year-old daughter, Karin, who requested a get-well story from her mother one day when she was home sick from school.
Pippi is a nine year old who lives in a colourful house “Villa Villekulla” in a little Swedish village together with her horse “Lilla Gubben” (translated from Swedish little old man) and her monkey, Mr. Nilsson. Mr. Nilsson and Lilla Gubben are always on her side; they cheer her up when she feels lonely and rescue her when she gets herself into trouble. Just like Peter Pan, Pippi does not want to grow up, and together with her neighbours and friends Tommy and Annika and the animals they have all kind of adventures in the village they live in.
“The shape of the bed, the head and backboard were inspired by an antique bed that is still in our family. I have chosen white and gold colours as it is a great combination, which is elegant and timeless,” says Kyra.
The new bedside table features stars in its design, and these can also be found on the Mr. Nilsson, as well as the handles of the wardrobe. The shape of the table was inspired by the round curves in the head and backboard of the bed.
The flamingo chair depicting a happy couple “Tasmina and Nikolai” is a true showstopper and would add a unique charm to any room.
“On a recent trip to LA, I saw several Flamingos featured in fashion and the animal came alive to me. I have always found Flamingos beautiful, gracious animals. Their movements are so fluid and they can stand for hours on one leg. The feathers are wonderfully layered and the color graduation on it is amazing. With their long, lean curved neck they can make distinctive bends and poses,” says Kyra.
The neck bend featured in the chair is a typical pose for Flamingos. On the legs of the chair and table you can also find detailed, hand-carved feather designs. The table was designed after the chair, and the colors of both items are also mainly white and gold; both stylish and classic. The fur new pieces look perfect on their own, together as a set, or along with the rest of the existing line.
